TEASA seeks to build and extend a network of caring, HIV/AIDs competent churches that:
As we tackle HIV/Aids, it is important to question methods and strategies of ministry that are no longer adequate for the task at hand, and develop new ones. We must also question theologies that answer questions that no one is asking. It is the task of Christian theology to answer burning questions that arise out of the pain of a contemporary culture. It is in raising questions that we arrive at better answers to the challenges we face.
Effective HIV/AIDs interventions require a good grasp of HIV/AIDs, and how it spreads and the impact it has on communities. Armed with this understanding, churches can develop ministry models that make a difference and can become signs of hope in communities. TEASA partners with theological institutions to facilitate ongoing theological and practical ministry training.
Many churches do valuable work in different areas of ministry in many communities, but few can demonstrate the impact of their work. Learn the tools of monitoring and evaluation in order to measure the impact of your ministry.
Enable your church to be an agent of transformation in your community by starting an HIV programs that helps prevent new infections, care for the infected, advocate on behalf of those who suffer discrimination due to illness. Network with others involved, compare notes and develop best practice. For events, conferences and workshops see the blog for a diary.
